Search Functionality Not Picking Up Keywords from Product Descriptions

Hi Store.link Team,

We are trying to enhance the search functionality on our Store.link store but are running into an issue. Specifically, it seems that the search feature only returns results when the keyword is in the product “title”, and “not” when the keyword appears in the “product description”.

For example, we have several frozen products listed, such as Samosa - 650g, where the word “frozen” is mentioned in the description but not in the product title. However, when we search for “frozen” on our storefront, only items with “(Frozen)” explicitly in the product name are shown in the results, the others are not appearing, despite having the keyword in the description.

Could you please let us know:

  1. Does the search functionality currently support searching through product descriptions?
  2. If not, is there a way to enable this functionality or work around the limitation?
  3. Are there any tools or integrations you recommend to improve keyword search coverage?

We’d appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can provide, as this feature is important for improving our product discoverability.

Search currently does not take product description into account.

Having said that, an update is rolling out, where you will be able to add keywords for each Product. Making them more discoverable in search.

This is already tested, and should go live soon.

Being able to add keywords for each product sounds like a very useful improvement. Looking forward to the rollout and seeing how it enhances search discoverability.
