I currently have multiple product listings for the same item with different size/weight variations, for example:
ABC (100g)
ABC (500g)
ABC (1kg)
At the moment, I can group them using the common name “ABC” so they appear together in the product list. However, this approach negatively impacts SEO and Google product ratings.
What I am looking for is a solution where each variation remains a separate product listing, but when a customer opens one product (for example ABC (100g)), the product page also displays the other available variants such as ABC (500g) and ABC (1kg).
In other words:
Products remain individually listed with their full names (ABC 100g, ABC 500g, ABC 1kg).
When viewing one product page, the other size/weight variants are shown as selectable options or related variants on the same page.
Is it possible to implement this type of cross-linked product variant display while keeping each product as an individual listing for SEO purposes?
Just to clarify from a technical perspective: if we keep each product with a fully distinct name such as ABC (100g), ABC (500g), ABC (1kg), the system treats them as completely separate products. Because of this, the platform will not automatically link them as variations, and the product page will not display the other sizes as selectable options, they are effectively isolated.
In order for the product page to reflect multiple size/weight options while keeping the product in the same category, the base product name should remain consistent (e.g., ABC) and the individual size/weight differences should be handled through a variation/option field (e.g., 100g, 500g, 1kg). This way, the system can automatically generate a variation selector on the product page, and each variant remains visible and selectable, without duplicating or breaking the category structure.
Keeping the variations in a dedicated column ensures:
Proper cross-variant display on the product page.
Each variant can maintain unique SKU, price, and stock.
The listing remains SEO-friendly without creating duplicate content issues.
Here when you change the variant, you can see that the URL path is indeed changing. Usually thats enough for search engines to pick up the variant. Its also added to your sitemap.
Can you please submit the variant URL to your Google Search Console for indexing and tell us what happens after a few days?
